As a Commercial HVAC & Mechanical Technician at Smart Air, you’ll be on the front lines of delivering high-quality solutions to our commercial clients. You’ll install, maintain, and troubleshoot HVAC & other mechanical systems, working alongside a team that has your back and supporting projects that demand precision and professionalism.

- Install, maintain, and repair commercial HVAC systems with precision, care, and pride.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues to keep systems running efficiently and safely.
- Collaborate with your team, project managers, and other departments to deliver solutions, not problems.
- Document your work and maintain accurate, recordable job records.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients and internal teams.
- Participate in ongoing mentorship, training, and skill development opportunities.
- Adhere to all safety standards and maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.

Qualifications
(Preferred)
- Union Status or Eligibility: Current or eligible member of UA Local 725 in good standing, or willingness to enter/advance within the union apprenticeship program.
- Formal Mechanical Training / Certification: Completion of an accredited mechanical systems, pipefitting, or related trade program; union training (e.g., ARPEC) preferred.
- Hands-On Commercial Mechanical Experience: Installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex mechanical systems in commercial or industrial settings.
- Technical Skills: Ability to read schematics, mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer manuals.
- Commitment to Safety & Professional Standards: OSHA 10 Certification required (or must obtain within first 60 days if union-eligible), with adherence to union safety protocols, jobsite professionalism, and Smart Air’s high-quality craftsmanship standards.
- Licensing (if applicable): Any required state or municipal mechanical/technical licenses; union journeyman card a plus.
- Team & Customer Focus: Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills aligned with Smart Air’s culture of support, respect, and accountability.
- Positive Attitude & Growth Mindset: Willingness to learn, participate in mentorship, and continuously improve your craft.
Physical & Field Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and work on jobsites for extended periods.
- Comfortable climbing ladders, accessing mechanical areas, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Able to work outdoors in South Florida conditions and navigate busy commercial job sites.
